Love for chocolate is overwhelming and shared by almost all people. However, things are different when it comes to the question whether it should be stored in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
According to one expert in nutrition, those who think the first is true are wrong. Luc Owen Smith claims that even when it comes to heat treatment, it is best to avoid storing chocolate in the refrigerator.
Smith explains that when left in the refrigerator, he loses his taste. You should also keep in mind that chocolate absorbs the smell, so that it will eventually start to smell what’s left of your dinner.
Instead, chocolate should be stored in a cool, dark, dry place, as the freezing temperatures can degrade its taste, as well as the excessively high temperatures.
If the heat in the room is so high that chocolate can melt, the expert recommends that it should be stored in a box and then stored in a refrigerator. However, prior to consumption, it should be left for a little while at room temperature.
